#8 Having your favorite dish after a long day of starving.

FOOD IS GOOD.
I don't care what the fashion industry is trying to tell us, I don't care about hipbones, collarbones and cheekbones, I don't care how "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels".  Honestly, how amazing is food?
I can tell you. On a scale from one to ten, food is 9283648764. So you've only taken an apple to school and you don't want to eat anything in the school cafeteria because the food looks gross? No big deal. No big deal.
Because nothing compares to the first bite of your favorite dish after a long day of starving. Your stomach is empty, your brain is clouded, you're feeling dizzy and during the entire day you had to press your hands on your stomach in class to keep it from growling. I'd say it's time for your favorite dish. Doesn't matter if it's croissants and coffee that you eat for lunch, pizza, spaghetti, a hamburger, your favorite salad, cupcakes, chocolate, sushi or 2 litres of pumpkin soup. It's just food.
Food is good. Food is amazing. Food is your friend.
So stop feeling guilty and eat up.

#7 One day in the woods.

Is there anything more calming than spending one day outside, far away from the city life, with no strangers passing you by, no kids crying, no people screaming? It's such an amazing, relieving feeling to finally be surrounded by nature, to walk through the woods with nobody else; just you and your thoughts.
We are just people in the end. We weren't made for the city life. We can't keep worrying and over-thinking. Sometimes we just need to get away from everything. Neither having to think about your problems nor about the decisions that are waiting to be made and just become one with the world. That's what we need from time to time.
You can feel your thoughts become easier, your body become lighter, you'll start to feel safe between the trees. And the best thing is: you can laugh, you can scream, you can cry, you can run around acting like a total idiot without anyone noticing it.
So if you ever feel like it's getting heavy on your shoulders and you need to get away from everything, just spend One Day in the Woods.

#5 When autumn paints the world in all different colors.

It's magnificent, this time of the year. At first you're sad because summer's over, and that means no more bonfires, short clothes, swimming, no more staying out all day and night long and you can't really enjoy ice cream and cold coke either, or at least not the way you do in summer.
But there's something much better coming up and there is absolutely no need to be nostalgic, because when you walk through your city, you're surrounded by the magic of autumn. Yes, I said magic. Is there a better season for long walks, wrapped up in cozy sweaters and huge scarfs, taking pictures of autumn leaves or trying the new Starbucks Limited Edition Moccha? No, there isn't. After all the freedom and the adventures you've experienced in summer, it's time to move closer together and get prepared for the cold months. The first hot chocolate of the year? Unforgettable. Staying in bed reading a book with a lot of candles lit while it's raining outside? Perfect. DVD nights with your friends? Amazing. How red the sunrises always are in the morning? Gorgeous. How the whole world seems to be painted with bright colors that summer has left us with to not lose hope during the tough winter months? Absolutely beautiful.
So grab a book, a cup of hot chocolate or someone to cuddle with and enjoy the atmosphere.

Float down like autumn leaves, hush now, close your eyes before the sleep.

#4 Finding a letter in your mailbox.

I don't mean e-mails. I don't mean adverts. I don't mean the magazines you subscribed.

I mean real, actual letters written by real, actual people. People who took their time to sit down over a piece of paper and write down their thoughts and feelings. People who give you something you can hold on to. And isn't it the most sensational feeling, finding old letters that you almost forgot about years later and re-reading them?

I think it's a shame that our generation has neglected the habit of writing letters. Letters are emotions captured on paper, not just pixels dancing around on your screen.
Maybe we should take some time and tell the people we love how much we really appreciate them. In a letter. We take way too many people for granted. Whatever you feel, whatever you want to tell somebody, do it today. Tomorrow is never guaranteed.

#3 Finding a song that perfectly matches the mood you're in.

Someone once said "Where words fail, music speaks."
Everyone knows this feeling. It's a huge relief when you find a song that expresses your thoughts and feelings perfectly, especially if you feel like no one in the world understands you. Because you're not alone. Never.
This is why music saves lives. People relate to the lyrics and for those 3 minutes, a beautiful connection between the artist and the listener builds up; something magical, invisible, only tangible for the person who actually understands everything that the artist is trying to say. Music gives us hope. Music helps us understand. Music helps us get through rough times and make plans for the future.
And last but not least, music captures certain emotions and expresses them in a way that words never will.

#2 Growing apart from someone, then growing back together.

It's the worst feeling in the world when you slowly grow apart from someone who means the world to you. You can feel it happening, every single part of your consciousness is screaming "No, please, this can't be real.", but in the end, there's nothing you can do to stop this whole process. It's natural. People make new experiences, get to know new people and change.
Change is good. Change is necessary. But change leads to hearts being broken and best friends growing apart from each other, even if none of them ever saw this coming, let away wanted this to happen.
So you start to miss them, or rather the person they were when things were still beautiful and simple. You start to look at old pictures and wonder what went wrong and if you could have done something to save your relationship. No, you couldn't.
But then something changes. You start to talk to them again, maybe send them a text when something randomly reminds you of them. And then, in the blink of an eye, you're close again and it feels so indescribably good to finally have them back.
So eventually, growing apart is not as bad as you think. Sometimes you must first miss something to learn to appreciate it. And when you have it back, you will never want to let it go.

#1 Looking at old pictures.

We all have these moments where we just wish to rewind time, because the present never seems half as beautiful as the past. This is why every photograph is a blessing. It captures the moment perfectly and even months, years, decades later, when everything has changed, they still remain the same. The people in it do, too.

And now I'll just let these pictures speak.
